EDUC-6715I Reflection

This course has brought a willingness to adapt my teaching strategies through technology to reach the strengths of my students promoting an effective learning environment. Designing, developing and implementing learning opportunities and assessments through technology will help promote lifelong learning, professional practice, as well as pushing students to succeed in the 21st century workplace or education environment.

Adapting lessons and technology to your students will benefit the overall learning environment. Promoting student success through technology helps adapt lessons to fit the unique and diverse student body teachers are presented with in today’s classroom. Continuing to pursue professional development inside and outside school district opportunities or workshops will help ensure these opportunities exist currently and in the future.

Teachers should promote technology to build student interest or expand on prior student experience or exposure to the technology. Effective use of digital tools and resources not only helps diversify the lesson but helps enhance student awareness of technology the students will be experiencing throughout education and later in the 21st century workforce. This course has help continue and expand on the belief that technology is a great resource to connect with students, diversify a curriculum effectively, and promote technology in the classroom.

Reflection

Using the resources from our social network will allow me to stay up to date with differentiated instruction and provide me with a supply of websites, information, teaching strategies, and other resources for possible implemenation within my classroom. Having an available database of resources will help my process of diversifying curriculum as well as providing staff members with available resources if they take an interest in Universal Design for Learning or Differentiated Instruction. The collection of resources will be a great support system in moving forward with differentiated instruction.

Implementing more technology on a regular basis will help diversify learning opportunities and reach more learning styles. Adapting lessons to fit individual student needs will be beneficial to their learning outcomes and differentiated learning abilities. By using more technology I will have greater success in reaching each individuals' diverse needs. In the future I will try and introduce as much technology as possible within my teaching lessons, as the flexibility of technology helps promote a diverse teaching curriculum.
